Check that the truck, with all tires in place, has a level body.

The rear bumper (4) does not extend beyond the outside faces of the rear tires.

Use a ⅛"-wide saw blade to cut a groove for the mud flaps (5) into the bottom of the rear bumper. Cut inner tube rubber for the mud flaps. Glue the mud flaps into the slots in the rear bumper.

Two sets of steps (29, 30) are required, one for each side of the cab. Each set of steps is the width of a door. The separation of the steps is done with a straight bit and router table or on the table saw. Or, two pieces of wood can be glued together to make the steps. A rabbet is then cut into the top rear of the steps. The bottom edge of the base in front of the doors will fit into the rabbet.
